Girl Thrown From Horse
A girl who was thrown more than 25ft from her pony on Sunday was later admitted to Christchurch Hospital with extensive facial injuries. Her condition last evening was satisfactory. Derryle Nuth, aged 15, of Governor’s Bay, was riding down the drive of her parents* home when her pony bolted. It stopped suddenly when it reached the road and Derryle was thrown over its head, across the road, through a hedge and a tree and crashed down in the boulder-strewn bed of a stream.
She was wearing a rider’s hard hat which it is believed saved her from even more serious injury.
