Mrs Gandhi In Indonesia

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) DJAKARTA , June 30. The Indian Prime Minister (Mrs Indira Gandhi) today began official talks with President Suharto of Indonesia at Merdeka (Freedom) Palace. Mrs Gandhi was accompanied by the Indian Ambassador to Indonesia (Mrs Kannampilly), and six other Indian officials, and with President Suharto were the Foreign Minister (Mr Adam Malik) and several senior Government officers. Earlier the two leaders had met privately. Palace sources say that the talks concerned international and bilateral issues, such as Vietnam, non-alignment, policies toward China, and ways to promote trade relations between India and Indonesia.

A joint communique is expected to be issued at the end of Mrs Gandhi’s visit, on Thursday.
