BORDER LEICESTER OCCASION.—This photograph was taken when Border Leicester breeders from all parts of the country made a round of studs of the breed in the central part of Canterbury this week. At the time the party was visiting the property of the estate of James Stevenson at Flaxton. With the Stevenson ram is, from left, Mr J. D. Paterson, chairman of the No. 3 district of Border Leicester breeders (this district extends from Cook Strait to the Rangitata River), Mr K. D. Stevenson, and Mr W. A. Sommerville, of Pokeno. The latter is chairman of the Border Leicester breed committee of the New Zealand Sheepbreeders’ Association.
