Colonel Henri’s Story. Edited
lan Colvin. William Kimber Press. Heaven Next Stop. Gunther Bloemertz. William Kimber Press.
Both books are reprints of popular works first published in 1953. “Colonel Henri’s Story” tells of a German spy working close to. the French underground movement By his devious personality and sensitive reaction to the mind and character of the Frenchman, he was able to persuade many a resistance supporter to reveal his seditious plans. Such was the basis of the fame of this German secret agent By contrast, “Heaven Next Stop” tells of the experiences of a fighter pilot in the German Air Force during the Second World War. The episodes range from events in the time of the success of the German offensive to those of its failure. The slowly depleting numbers in the Squadron reflect the fading fortunes of the German Air Force.
