Suitably qualified candidates could be considered for appointment at the level of READER or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, and an appointment may be available at the SENIOR LECTURER level. The Faculty continues to grow and, in addition to existing subjects, intends to offer some new ones in 1970. A new building, designed to meet the needs of the Faculty, is nearing completion, and will be in use in 1970. Appropriate fields of interest: Psychology, Philosophy, Anthropology and/or Sociology of Education, History of Educational Thought, Research design and statistics, Curriculum Development and Evaluation, Methods of Teaching Mathematics, of Geography and of the Social Sciences; but applicants from any relevant fields will be considered, and those with good qualifications in Government or Political Science will be especially welcome. Registrar. 4842 THE FLINDERS UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA PROFESSOR OF BIOLOGY (Microbiology) SCHOOL OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES Applications are invited from ment as PROFESSOR OF BIOLOGY in the School of Biological Sciences. This is a fully integrated school, without separate departments, and with teaching and research interests extending broadly into the fields of biochemistry, biophysics, developmental biology, genetics, physiology and taxonomy. There is at present an academic staff of 16 in the school, including three other Chairs of Biology. The successful applicant will be expected to assist in the development of integrated courses in biology at first and second year level, and to accept a major responsibility for later year and research specialisation in microbiology. Other considerations being equal, preferance may be given to an applicant with special interests in, or some familiarity with microbial genetics.
