Tea May Be Cheaper (By Our Grocery Reporter) New Zealand tea buyers may be able to obtain stocks at the Ceylon auctions at slightly lower rates this month. The recovery in prices last week was short-lived, and as offerings are still about 10,000,0001 b, the demand is poor. Because of lack of bids, offerings are being withdrawn from the sale. As a result, prices for medium and good medium varieties of tea have been lower. The Ceylon Government has announced a new sliding scale for export duty rebates for tea sold at the Colombo auctions. This is to help producers over the present crisis. The existing scheme will be withdrawn this week and the new scheme will begin next week. Aerosol Cleaner.—S.T.S. Group Sales has produced a new foaming household cleaner under the brand name of Charge. It is packed in a 13or aerosol can and has a special valve. Thu enables the cleaner to be used In any position without the valve clogging or a loss of pressure. The suggested retail price will be 75c. New Style Bean.—J. Wattle Canneries, Ltd, has installed new equipment, to produce a new style of canned green bean. It Is known as Kitchen Cut. Packed In a 16es can the beans have a- suggested retail price of 20c.
