opportunities and used all of them. S Rennell was outstanding and was well supported by P. Wadsworth. RIX A 16 (J. Fairhall 6. G. Thompson 4). CHECKERS B 15 (B. Nurse 4). This was a closely-contested game all the way through. Play tended to be somewhat sloppy at first but improved later after a large number of fouls had been called. L. Fairhall played well for Rex with some good shooting. In the middle stages of the game the Rex team’s passing was superior to that of the Checkers team. The half-time score was 6-6 which rather favoured Checkers who continued their burst well into the last stages of the game. However, a final effort by Rex, when it capitalised on some wild passing, gave it victory. G. Thompson played well for Rex, saving several certain goals.
