PLAYERS CHOSEN FOR HIGH SCHOOLS’ BAND

The Canterbury High Schools’ Representative Band and 12 other bands from throughout New Zealand will perform at the high school band festival at Mairehau High School on July 26. The associate conductors for the massed and representative bands will be Messrs R. Simpson and T. Brown. Mr Brown will also- train the band. Lindsay (Aranui), D. Johnston (Riccarton); solo tenor horns, J. Wislang (Linwood), Burnie (Hillmorton); first tenor horns, Eaton (Papanui), Julie Marsden (Cashmere), F. Dewe (Hagley); second tenor horns, R. Le Grice (Papanui), R. Carter (Hagley), R. Incal (Shirley); first baritone, B. Smith (Papanui); second baritone, S. Craw (Linwood), B. Tippet (Riccarton), B. Smithers (Riccarton); euphonium, L. Brown (Christchurch Boys’ High), G. Campbell (Mairehau); first trombone, T. Douglas (Christchurch Boys* High), D. Hill (Mairehau); second trombone, K. In addition, five players from the Timaru High School band are being auditioned for positions.
