Mrs H. C. L. Pruden retired recently as provincial president of the League of Mothers in Canterbury. She had held the position for four years. A tribute was paid to Mrs Pruden’s work for the league by a former president, Mrs Doreen Grant, and an executive officer, Mrs G. M. Martin, at a social evening. Four branch presidents have also retired. They are Mesdames L. Loversidge, L. Russell, A. Harris, and J. Tilley.
