LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
(1) Letters sent to <he Editorj for printing should preferably be typed, otherwise they must be ivritten in ink on one side of the paper only A legible signature and full address are re? quired whether these are to be published or not. A P 0. box number is not a suffi dent address. (2) Writers must say clearly whether or not their letters are being or have been sent to other papers. (3) The Editor cannot return or keep any letter which for any reason is unsuitable for printing; nor can he acknowledge unsuitable letters, although this will be done where it seems to be needful, or enter into any correspondence. (4) Letters must not be of more than 150 words.

Carmody.—Sorry; correspondence recently closed. Far too long, in any case. Ageless.—The age of the defendant is often relevant to the circumstances of the case—in fixing the penalty, for instance, C. E. Cullen.—No space to discuss Rhodesia again just now. We would remind you, however, that no British newspaper gave a more sympathetic hearing to Mr Smith than the “Daily Telegraph"—until it was satisfied that he was determined on permanent white supremacy.
