Pressure On Teachers
Because of the New Zealand “do it yourself” attitude, many teachers often put too great a pressure on themselves, the district senior inspector of primary schools (Mr B. F. Wilson) told teachers at a recent meeting of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute.
In a supplied report, the branch says that Mr Wilson urged teachers they would have to prepare themselves for proficiency in special areas'.
“It is most necessary that teachers have the time to live the normal life of the community,” he said. “In the field of school building and equipment, teachers must give a lead as to what the most desirable features for schools are.”
