Marlin Div. Up To 17.5 p.c.
Marlin Carpets, Ltd, Christchurch, has raised its dividend for the third time in succession since its official listing. In a preliminary statement the directors announced the dividend increase from 16 to 17.5 per cent, and said that the company had another good year.
“Although manufacturing costs have risen during the year, the utilisation of new plant has expanded output and the result is that the net profit has shown an increase in line with expectations.
“The volume of export sales in the year March 31 was considerably larger than previous years and there is still a strong demand for the company’s Marlin brand all-wool carpet, both in New Zealand and abroad,” they said.
