Auckland’s Bid
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The Auckland Rugby Union has unanimously decided to ask for the North Island and national trials at Auckland next year. The New Zealand Rugby Union last month gave the North Island trials to Palmerston North and the national trials to Wellington.
Mr L. McWhirter, moving that the N.Z.R.U. be asked to rescind these decisions said the higher gates would offset any extra cost in holding the trials in Auckland.
