The five-week programmi which is being promoted b the National Council o Churches and the Romai Catholic Church, is designe to help all men and womei to take a careful look at s< ciety in the 19705. This aimed at the whol community and it is hope, that more than 100.000 pel sons will be involved. The programme is planne as a small group study ii homes, offices, factories, con munity clubs and othe places. More than 350 loca organisations have been ei tablished to plan these group and leaders have beei trained. The public relations office for the programme, Mr P. J Daly, of Wellington, says tha the programme will be a quie get-together of friends ii their homes to discuss th sort of problems that the and their children will fac in the next 10 years. Groups have also bee planned in hospitals, prison and universities, and severs service clubs are giving fiv of their weekly programme to a consideration of th themes. Headmasters of sev< ral secondary schools als intend to use the studies wit their sixth forms as part o the liberal studies courses. The Governor-General (Sir Arthur Porritt) has said that he will do what he can to commend “Interview ’69.” “The project appeals to me as sound, forward-looking thinking,” he says in a message to the National Council of Churches in Christchurch.

The programme has the support of the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake), the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Kirk), and the Secretary for Justice (Dr J. L. Robson).
