STATE PAY INCREASE

Procedure For Payment (W.Z. Press Auociationt WELLINGTON, May 20. The recent ruling rates increase for State servants would be added as a flat amount to salaries up to $4970 a year, the chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Government Administration (Mr Marshall) said today. For salaries above $4970 a year the increase would taper off. An interim payment for employees on salaries up to $5300, which was granted after the general wage order last August, will be deducted from the amount disclosed by the survey.

The increase for basic clerical and other officers is $l6O a year. The balance to be applied is $76 a year up to $4970, $46 at $5300, $lOO at $5630, $7O at $5990 and $4O at $6380.
