Three Horses Bled

Three horses bled in their races at Riccarton yesterday, it was officially reported. They were His Lordship. New Mint in the Westport Handicap, and Coeur de Chene in the Maiden Handicap. Beau Knight fractured his near foreleg about three furlongs from the finish of the Fox Handicap and caused Uncertain to lose several lengths when he moved out, and the pair collided. Beau Knight was examined by a veterinary surgeon and was destroyed on his advice.
