UNIVERSITY SIT-IN

Troops Called In Amsterdam (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) AMSTERDAM, May 20. About 150 elite Dutch troops have joined a police cordon round part of Amsterdam where a student sit-in group spent the week-end photo-copying confidential files.

The troops, from the Royal Constabulary, have reinforced about 100 policemen who have been trying in vain to stop the 400 students sneaking food supplies into the administrative building they occupied in a surprise attack last Friday. The students want a voice in university affairs, and say university documents should be seen by all. Publication by the students of confidential documents was described as “scandalous” by the university chancellor (Mr W. Drechsel), who aded that many of the documents were of a strictly personal nature, and were being read by people who had nothing to do with them.
