Prize For Picking
The Waimate Racing Club will introduce a picking competition at its meeting on Saturday. A page in the race book will invite patrons to pick a horse in races three, four, five and six. An entry fee of 20c will be charged.
Driver Fined $2O
D. M. Dalgety, the driver of Spangled Hanover in the Second Caroline Handicap at Washdyke on Saturday, was fined *2O for causing interference to Black Judy with two furlongs to run. Bertha Jo, which finished fourth, was disqualified from the Stewards' Handicap for galloping at the finish. Carrao was promoted to fourth.
The connections of Ivanhoe, Salote, Garry Walla, and Sherwood pick were warned to improve the . racing manners of their horses.
L. R. Clark, the driver of Logan Count In the President's Handicap, was warned to exercise more care over the concluding stages of a race.
