Gerrand, Wipe Out For Auckland

AUCKLAND. Gerrand and Wipe Out may be the hardest to beat in the Adams Memorial Gold Cup, the first leg of the T.A.B. concession double on the final night of the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting at Alexandra Park tomorrow.

Highland Flight looks certain to be a strong favourite for the second leg, the Aerial Scott Handicap, although the Raetihi Star may receive stout opposition from the improving South Island mare, Global Hall. There was rain in Auckland yesterday, but it did not affect the track. With the outlook favourable, the going should be fast. Selections:— 6.50 p.m.—Betty Boon Pace: Caledonian Globe, Flying Bee, Wardene. 7.20 p.m.—Walkaha Handicap: Kings Up, Own Star, Someday. 7.50 p.m.—Navy Blue Stakes: Gold Oaks, Dark Wood, Hi Mundy. 8.30 p.m.—Adams Memorial Gold Cup: Gerrand, Wipe Out, Via Veneto. 9 p.m.—Royal Silk Handicap: Charlie Chan, Squire's Hanover, Single Hal. 9.30 p.m.—Captain Sandy Pace: Jack Tar, Honest Sal, Aruma.
