(N.Z. Press Association) The Wellington welterweight, G. Smith, beat J. Wright of Sydney, by a t.k.o. in the fourth round in Wellington on Wednesday night The action was generally at close quarters, and Smith usually threw the last punch and had the better of the exchanges. Both fighters suffered cuts in the third round, which featured toe-to-toe rallies. K. Mahanga, had another surprise win on points against the Australian middleweight, A. Philips.
