Sound Trial At Wingatui “The Press** Special Service DUNEDIN. Bargain Hunter, Watallan, Superspan, and Beladin were four of the most impressive triallsts at Wingatui yesterday, when track gallops were held under ideal conditions and on fast footing. Bargain Hunter, a runaway winner at Invercargill last week, enhanced his prospects in the Westport Handicap at Riccarton on Tuesday, when he ran five furlongs on the out* side of the course proper in imin 4 3-ssec, keepfng up a strong gallop over the last three furlongs in 39 3-ssec. Mr H. J. Crawford’s Head Hunter {gelding was ridden by his reguar jockey, E. J. Didham. Superspan (J. D. Pankhurst) and Watallan (B. J. Anderton) were almost equally impressive in Imin ssec, the last three furlongs in 39 3-ssec. Superspan is one of the early favourites for the 100 Pipers Handicap at Invercargill tomorrow, while Watallan is a form runner in the Pressmen’s Handicap at the same meeting. Beladin and Ma Jeune Beladin (E. J. Didham) and Ma Jeune (L. Didham) set the main for half a mile in 52 2-ssec, the last three furlongs in 39 Bank Again (M. Denton) and Abolight (E. J. Didham) recorded the best performance on the sand in running five furlongs in Imin 5 4-ssec, the last three furlongs in 40 2-ssec. Bank Again will have his first test in open company in the Pressmen’s Handicap at Invercargill. David Porter (E. J. Didham) and Coral Tan (M. Denton) were together in imin 6 4-ssec, the first two furlongs in 25 2-ssec. Palisade, ridden by his race rider, E. J. Didham, was not out for time, but worked to the satisfaction of his trainer, D. P. Wilson, in Imin 9 2-ssec, the* first two furlongs in 27sec.
