Copper Stolen
Half a ton of copper was taken from the New Zealand Copper and Refining Company’s premises, Penn Place, Riccarton, in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The theft was reported to the police yesterday.
About 5 a.m. a man had been seen on the roof of the building but he made off.
A wrist watch worth $6l was stolen from a house in Riccarton Road yesterday. Cigarettes worth $l5 were stolen from the Gasson Street factory of F. and T. Footwears, Ltd. recently. Entry was gained through a window.
