DRAUGHTS TITLE
Greymouth Man Leading (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. In the second day of play of the national draughts championship at Auckland yesterday, V. Budd, of Greymouth won all his games. Among those he beat was W. O’Malley, of Christchurch who has twice been New Zealand champion. Five rounds were completed last night. The competition will end on Saturday night. i Results:— Third Round.—R. Noonan (Christchurch) beat J. Taylor (Timaru); J. Stanisch (Auckland) beat R. Philburn (Auckland); G. Moko (Wellington) beat L. Stanisich (Auckland): C. Mac Murray (Dunedin) drew with J. Van Nieuwkerk (Auckland): V. Rudd (Greymouth) beat W. O'Malley (Christchurch): A. Hrstich (Auckland beat W. Cibilic (Auckland); G. Hadlee (Timaru) beat R. Dixon (Greymouth). Fourth Round.—Taylor drew with Stanisich: Noonan drew with L. Stanisich; W. Smith (Auckland) beat Mac Murray; Cibilic beat Hadlee; Rudd beat Moko: Hrstich drew with Van Nieuwkerk; O’Malley drew with Philburn. Fifth Round.—MacMurray beat Stanisich; Rudd beat Smith: Noonan beat Cibilic; Hadlee beat Philburn: van Nieuwkerk beat Moko: Hrstich beat Taylor.
