Election Survey

Sir,—This morning (Saturday) a young man came to the door asking survey questions concerning the next General Election. He claimed to represent “the Combined Educational Associations of New Zealand.” Two features of this survey worried me; the questions encouraged answers favourable to one point of view, and people were not approached consistently. Very few of my neighbours were given the opportunity to answer the questions. While I appreciate the role of pressure groups in government, I feel it Is wrong to involve the public generally through a method of such doubtful applicability. Yours, etc., CLIVE HILTON. May 10, 1969.

To our knowledge, there is no such body as “the Combined Educational Associations of New Zealand.” Ed., “The Press.”]
