Wage Rates Increased

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 8. Licensed hotel clerical workers and motor trade employees have received increases in their minimum wage rates in two new awards issued by the Arbitration Court. The hotel clerical workers have been granted increases of up to 81c a week for females and $1.07 a week for males. Various allowances have also been increased. Motor trade employees have been granted increases ranging from 2.9 c to 3.96 c an hour, depending on the type of work. An A-grade mechanic now has a weekly minimum of $41.36.

The increases for hotel clerical workers apply from April 16 and for the motor trade employees from April 14.
