Fourth Soviet General Dead

(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter —Copyright) MOSCOW, May 7. The Soviet Union today announced the death of another Army general—the fourth such announcement in 11 days. He was Lieutenant-General P. Dmitriyev, head of the North Caucasus military district political administration. An obituary in the armed forces newspaper, “Red Star,” said he died suddenly, but it gave neither the cause nor the date of his death. While there has been nothing in the published obituaries of all four generals to connect the deaths, political observers in Moscow are surprised by the remarkable coincidence of so many deaths in such an unusually short period.
