Relay Team To Race

A team of six Canterbury University athletes will take part in the anual Jack Lovelock Memorial Relay in Dunedin on Saturday, against club teams from Otago. The race will be over six laps of 1500 metres. Canterbury has entered a strong team but is without two of its better runers, S. Jolly and J. Williamson. The team is: B. Taylor, R. Robinson, B. Everton, M. Gilbertson, J. Sweeney and K. O’Sullivan.

However, there are two very strong clubs in Otago this year—Otago University and Caversham. Otago University has A. Hassell, K. Dowling and L. Dey, who performed well in the track season just finished, and Caversham has two of the best milers in the South Island, B. Cowan and B. Burns.
