Two Courts Added
Witt the opening tonight of two new courts, the Christchurch Squash Rackets Club has every reason to be proud of the progress made since its inception in 1957. Begining with a leased court In Worcester Street, the club has progressed in stages from two courts opened on May 7, 1960, a third in 1963, and now the addition of two more. It will make the club the biggest squash rackets complex in the South Island—and the equal of any in the North Island. When It began in 1957 under the presidency of Mr 'M. O. Holdsworth, the club had 85 members. Today, there are more than 500 and usually there is a waiting list The addition of the third court in 1963 was timed for the holding of the New Zealand championships in Christchurch. This year, the national titles will again be held at the Chester Street courts, early in July.
