AUCKLAND, May 6.
A 35-foot yawl, the Mangawai, the boat from which the student radio station Radio Bosom broadcast programmes on Monday, was pulled off rocks at Okahu Bay, Auckland, tonight.
The police launch Deodar was sent to Okahu Bay after reports that the yawl was being dashed against rocks.
A line was attached to the boat and it was towed to a safe mooring in the bay. The owner of the Mangawai, Mr F. Herbert, learned
of the yawl’s mishap when a reporter rang him tonight Mr Herbert said he was not aware the yawl had been used by the students for their broadcasts.
“I hired it out to them after they had put a booking in some time ago,” he said. “They took it over on Saturday and I was under the impression they were going to Kawau Island.”
