QUEEN IN VIENNA
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) VIENNA, May 6.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh on the first full day of the six-day State visit to Austria, will attend a special performance of the tra-dition-steeped Spanish riding school.
Her Viennese hosts expect her to be enthralled by the superbly trained white Lipizzaner stallions.
In the white baroque riding school under glittering chandeliers the horses and riders will put on a musical display of equestrian precision, the elegant movements of which have been handed down from century to century.
The Queen will also inspect the stallions and the two Halfinger horses she is to receive as a gift from President Franz Jonas. The Vienna Boys’ Choir in their sailor suits will serenade the Royal visitors after luncheon at the Belvedere Palace, and there is to be a gala command performance of the State Opera. The Queen asked for "Die Fledermaus,” by Johann Strauss.
