Heyerdahl Off To Morocco

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) ALEXANDRIA (Egypt), . May 5. The Norwegian explorer, Mr Thor Heyerdahl, has sailed for Morocco in the Swedish ship Sagaholm, taking with him the papyrus boat in which he plans an Atlantic crossing this summer to rival his famous Ron Tiki expedition. Mr Heyerdahl plans to sail from Safi to Central America in his gondola-shaped craft to test a theory that ancient Egyptians sailed to Mexico and influenced its pyramids and culture. He told a press conference that he expected the 4000mile voyage to take three or four months, depending on wind and currents.
