Support Of Tour

A motion supporting the All Black tour of South Africa was carried by a big majority at a general meeting yesterday of the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company Belfast branch of the Freezing Workers’ Union, according to a statement from the branch.

The statement said that speakers considered the fact that Maoris were to be accepted for the tour was a major break-through. “ft was also felt that if there were any indignities to the Maoris on the tour, the tour should be cancelled and the players returned home,” said the statement.
