CLASH OF DATES
Hong Kong
Club Tour
(N.Z.P. A.'Reuter—Copyright) HONG KONG.
One of Hong Kong’s top soccer teams, Jardines, plans to tour Australia and New Zealand during May or June. The team yesterday lodged details of its proposed tour with the Hong Kong Football Association and is hoping exact dates will be decided shortly. A club official said: “We want to play in New Zealand between May 20 and June 10, but the N.Z.F.A. wants us there between June 11 and 18.”
He added that the latter dates clashed with visits to Hong Kong by. the touring English F.A. team and the West German club, Borussia Dortmund. However, the dates sought by Jardines coincide with the visit to New Zealand of the English F.A. Side. Jardines, a professional side in Hong Kong’s mixed professional-amateur football league, finished third in the first division last season. Last Sunday, it won' the senior shield, the Colony’s knockout championship.
