P.T.A. Officers Elected The limitations imposed on a school’s curriculum by concentration on examinations and the possible neglect of education in its widest sense, was discussed by the retiring president of the Canterbury Federation of Parent-Teacher Associations (Mr W. R. Schofield) at the federation’s annua! meeting recently. Mr Schofield addressed the meeting on the subject of education, and on the part it played in the enlightened use of leisure. Among general matters discussed by the meeting were two remits for the 1969 national conference. These dealt with the inclusion of family life education for first and second forms, and the question of non-teacher assistance in primary schools.

Officers elected were President, Mr J. P. Senior; secretary. Mrs L. M. Dodds; i treasurer, Mr A. F. Fuller; .'committee, Mrs D. Leach. Messrs L. Burney, A. J. Cuslack, J. Gascoyne. P. J. Gill, IT. Wingham, B. R. Woodall and R. A. Wyatt.
