A TAXI-ING RF101 VOODOO JET of the United States Air Force bursts into flames after failing in take-off at the Itazuke ( base of the Air Force in Ky ushu, Japan. It was one of 18 Voodoos, stationed at the base since the Pueblo incident last year, which were leaving for Missouri, by way of Guam, on transfer. The airport, which is also used for civil aviation, was closed for three hours. The pilot escaped without injury. —Photograph by cable.
