OCEAN RACE
Kahurangi First (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) j SUVA.; The Auckland cutter Kahu-, rang! won line honours and set a new record for the Auckland-' to-Suva yacht race yesterday. Myth of Arran, a 46ft sloop, finished second, just over fours! behind.
It was an elated skipper, W. Wilson, who brought Kahurangi, on to the buoy in front of thei !Royal Suva Yacht Club. In thei last race he was a member of the crew of Fidelis, which also; won line honours.
Kahurangi. the largest vessel in the 27 yacht fleet, led all the way and returned a time of seven days 17 hours for the 1200-miles. Fidelis in 1966 did eight days 16 hours. The next two yachts to cross the line were the 53ft Auckland yawl Kochab II and the 36ft Panmure sloop Concord.
Concord has a good chance of winning the race on handicap while Myth of Arran looks likely 1 to gain first place in the first division.
