Stoppage At West Arm

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, April 27. A stop-work meeting involving 900 men will be held at the Manapouri West Arm site tomorrow morning to disicuss the dismissal of a carpenter from the slsom hydroelectric project. The meeting will consider the issue of safety and related problems, which have been associated with the dismissal. The dismissal of the carpenter has already been the subject of a disputes committee meeting in Dunedin but so far no settlement has I been reached.

The ’ Carpenters’ Union ;feels the man had been i wrongfully dismissed. He had ! refused to do work which he {considered unusually hazardI ous.
