TROTTING Royalistic Might Test Hawera Favourites
“The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. R. Furdon’e pair. Royalistic and Johnny Dancer, may provide the probable favourite’s, Folse Star and Ballytrue, with stout opposition In the Taranaki Trotting Cup at New Plymouth today. Royalistic, a fresh horse on the Taranaki circuit, has raced very consistently this season and he has been working attractively at Pukekohe. Johnny Dancer went solid races off difficult marks at the three-day Hawera meeting. Ballytrue qualified for the race when he won on the second day at Hawera.
Ail but four of the 15 acceptors for the Weston Memorial, the second leg of the T.A.B. concession double, are from northern stables. The good three-year-olds. John Watts and Gay Miller, look to have great chances. Their main opposition may come from the bracketed pair, Tiny Roseland and Charlie Chan. Neither had much luck at the Hawera meeting.
