Assistance Needed

CIV.Z. Press assoetetion)

WANGANUI March 21. Dr D. W. S. Klee, the only doctor serving the #OOO patients in Ohakune and Raetihi, said today he could not manage another winter without assistance. He said he had no intention of walking out on his patients however. He had worked a seven-day week for the last four years. He sees an average of 50 patients a day during the summer, but more than 100 a day in the winter. It was imperative that Raetlhi had its own doctor, he said. There is no doctor's residence or surgery in Raetihi, but a group of local businessmen are reportedly considering providing this amenity. As well as being the doctor for.Ohakune and Raetihi and the surrounding district, he is also the superintendent-in-charge of the Waimarino Hospital.
