Fire Guts House

Fire, which started in the kitchen, severely damaged the house of Mr L. C. Price, 13 Roche Avenue, Upper Riccarton, yesterday afternoon. Firemen on three engines answered the alarm given at 3.24 p.m. The interior of the single-storey, wooden house, with tile roof, was gutted except for one room which suffered considerable damage from' smoke and water.

The fire spread through the ceiling and lining of the interior rooms, and the house was blazing inside, with smoke pouring from the doors, eaves and windows, when the firemen arrived.
