A nurse at the Christchurch Women’s Hospital was killed when she was run over by an articulated logging truck in Bealey Avenue, near the Victoria Street intersection, at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. She was

Miss Catherine Mary Crowe, aged 25, of 55 Kilmarnock Street, Riccarton.

Miss Crowe was riding her bicycle east on Bealey Avenue and the truck was travelling in the same direction. She fell under the articulated part of the truck. The driver was Mr B. W. Hammond, of 12 Belfast Road, Belfast.
