Troops Denial

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) MANILA,- March 20.

The Philippines Defence Secretary (Mr Ernesto Mata) denied today that his country was massing troops in Mindanao in the southern Philippines. He told a press conference that he was making the denial in answer to charges by the Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister (Tun Abdul Razak). Tun Razak said yesterday that Malaysia had evidence that the Philippines was building up its troop strength on several islands facing Sabah. This indicated that the Philippines was not willing to settle its claim to Sabah by peaceful means.
