Fendalton Road

Sir, —In my twice-daily transit of Fendalton Road I have discovered two short stretches where my car becomes strangely silent. For two brief moments the windows stop rattling, the wheels stop bucking, and all is peace. Surely something can be done about this? There must be some machine available to the Waimairi County Council with which’they can, for the sake of uniformity, reduce these smooth patches to the same decrepit state as the rest of the road.—Yours, etc., BONESHAKEN.

March 3, 1969. [“I do not agree with your correspondent and suggest that his letter, if not facetious. is rather ridiculous," said Mr D. B. Rich, chairman of the Waimairi County Council.]
