Marathon Drive

fN.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON. March 11.

Four British nursing sisters have set out to match times with last year’s marathon motor race to Sydney, the “Daily Express” said yesterday.

The four, all from St Mary’s Hospital, Portsmouth, in Southern England, are Cynthia Peel, aged 32, Ann Bain, aged 28, Helen Blair, aged 35, and Kathleen Gregory, aged 30.

They left in their secondhand mini-bus on Saturday. Miss Peel said: “It’s been a struggle getting to the starting gate, but now there are only 12,000 miles to go.” The four plan to spend two years in Australia before returning to Britain.
