HOCKEY ASSN

Park To Be Sold

The Canterbury Hockey Association last evening agreed to dispose of Williamson Park, its headquarters for the last 21 years, “in the manner felt fit by the newly-elected management committee.” This decision was made unanimously at the annual meeting of the association. Discussion on the purchase of a new ground was held in committee.

“It may take 10 or 20 years to make another ground home ground, but it will be well worth while,” said Mr C. V. Walter.

The main objection to Williamson Park was the lack of draining and the fact that there was only one ground available.

Mr T. I. Crossen, on behalf jof the mangement committee, said that there had not been support for the retention of Williamson Park.

j “It is very important that iwe have a home for CanterIbury hockey, and Williamson [Park has not measured up to | this," he added. A correction to the result of last season’s secondary school competition was made, Hagley High School winning and Linwood High School being relegated to second.
