Mrs Meir Well Supported

(N.Z. P.A .-Re uter—Copy right)

JERUSALEM, March 11

Mrs Golda Meir, the Israeli (Prime Minister-designate, to)day set about the task of forming a new Government with the knowledge that she can count on overwhelming Parliamentary support. Informed sources say that within a few hours of President Zalman Shazar formally giving her the task, Mrs Meir knew that she could count on the support of at least 106 of the 120 members of the Knesset. She has 21 days in which to form her Government, but political observers expect it to be one of the briefest Cab-inet-making processes in the country’s history. Mrs Meir, who, at the age of 70, is one of the most influential leaders of the ruling Labour Party, will be the first woman to become Prime Minister of Israel. i
