TWO HURT ON ROADS

Two persons were injured in collisions with milk delivery vehicles at Halswell and Avonhead yesterday. Daryl Burt, aged 8, of 133 Halswell Junction Road, suffered a broken ankle when his bicycle and a milk tanker collided at the corner of Halswell and Junction Roads about 8.20 a.m. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital where his condition was reported to be satisfactory. Mr G. W. Wilson, of 14 Donegal Street, Belfast, suffered head injuries when his power-cycle and a milk truck collided at the corner of Waimairi and Maidstone Roads about 3 a m. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital where his condition was reported to be satisfactory.

No Settlement.—There was still no sign today of a settlement of the dispute which halted work last week on the Mahoenui section of the Kapuni gas pipe-laying project.—(P.A.)
