House Brings $10,300
A house on the Esplanade at Kaikoura was sold for $10,300 at a public auction sale in Kaikoura on Saturday. The house, sold on behalf of an estate, has three bedrooms and the Government valuation is $B6OO. Furniture and household effects attracted wide attention from antique dealers from as far away as Dunedin. An antique sideboard fetched $l3O and a roll-top desk was sold for $75. The property and effects were offered by the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Ltd, trading as Levin and Company, Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr N. K. Aitken. A house on Marine Parade, New Brighton, was passed in for $12,500 at public auction on Saturday. The two-bed-roomed house, which includes a sun deck, was offered for sale by Binns, Barber and Keenan, Ltd, in conjunction with the New Brighton Land and Estate Agency, Ltd. There was a good attendance. The auctioneer was Mr E. G. Keenan.
