A 10-YEAR-OLD 1927 strain Romney ewe with four well-grown South Suffolk cross prime lambs. Mr Manderson, who is the writer of the accompanying article on this strain, gives the following information about this group—“ewe bodyweight was 125lb and weight of lamb weaned 282lb. Age 16 weeks. 10.5lb fleece of 48/50s count realised 34c a lb. Flock age was seven to 10 years. Production value $2B net. Grazing cost about 40 per cent higher than for one lamb."
