RACING Sun Bank Is Likely To Trouble Favourites

The North Island jockey, C. A. Bowry, has been engaged to ride the Riccarton stablemates Sun Bank and Gogo at the Banks Peninsula Racing Club’s meeting today.

Sun Bank is in the Peninsula Handicap. This race will probably be his last before he is sent north to join B. L. Hillis’s Takanini stable.

If suitable transport had been available earlier Sun Bank would have raced at the Franklin meeting today. On his latest form Sun Bank looks capable of troubling the favourites, Middy and General Gilbert, from his place in the weights. Sun Bank started his present campaign at the Canterbury Jockey Club’s summer meeting. He won the highweight on the second day of the meeting after running third in the corresponding race on the first day.
